A hammock is a great choice for anyone who wants to spend some relaxing time outdoors. They’re comfortable, convenient, and pretty inexpensive, too. While most of us think of the traditional hammock, strung between two trees, as our only option, there are plenty of others out there. If you’ve got the space to put up a couple of posts in your yard, you can string up a hammock. Or, you can check out a hammock with stand that can be moved just about anywhere. Let’s take a look at some of the different types on the market. You might be surprised by all your options.

A Hammock Chair

These chairs are an excellent choice if you’d like to use your hammock indoors. This compact chair is easy to set up indoors, and the chair stand is easy to assemble. Great for lounging and relaxing, these chairs are a wonderful choice for many people.

Hammock Swings

Is another fun option. This small swing looks like a regular one folded in half, and hung up. There’s a basket at the center of the hammock. These swings can be a great choice for indoor, porch, or patio lounging, and are a sturdy and inexpensive alternative to traditional porch swings. Some of these swings include a footrest, and may be referred to as an air chair.

Cloth versus Ropes

Traditional hammocks and many other types for sale come in more than one material. A cloth hammock is an excellent choice for people who don’t like the ropes of a conventional one. It won’t bite into your skin or leave strange looking red marks after you’re done using it. However, a cloth hammock doesn’t breathe as well, will take longer to dry out if it gets wet, and won’t fold up as small as a rope hammock. Whether you choose a hammock with stand, or just put yours up between a couple of trees, be sure to think about materials.

Larger Hammocks

If a regular one isn’t comfortable for you, or you’d like to lounge in company, consider a two person hammock. Sometimes shipped with frames and sometimes sold alone, these larger swings can accommodate more than one person, or be more comfortable for people who want more space than is available in a normal hammock.

Hammocks are a wonderful choice if you’d just like to kick back and relax, but don’t want to spend a lot or get a piece of furniture that’s hard to move and maintain. Whether you’d like to use a one inside, outside, on the porch or just about anywhere, you can find one that’ll work for you. From a portable hammock with stand to a traditional net of ropes, there are all kinds of variety available.
